The 2nd of December was an exciting day for Fèis Dhùn Èideann, as they celebrated the release of their first ever groupwork CD “Spionnadh”.
Fèis Dhùn Èideann have been working tirelessly over the past few months to record a CD with support from Fèisean nan Gàidheal’s Development Fund. The new CD features five tracks from the Fèis’ weekly groupwork class participants and was launched at their end of term concert on the 2nd of December in Edinburgh.
Fèis Chairperson Kris Calder said,
“Our groupwork class was first established in 2010 and we are thrilled to bring out this EP showcasing the hard work and talent of our senior group. Many of the them have been involved from the beginning and our aim was to capture their collective energy and the fruits of their efforts before they leave school and start the next chapter of their lives. We’d like, also, to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Mike Bryan for his commitment to this EP. His time and dedication made this entire project possible.”
Development Manager Calum Alex Macmillan said,
“Fèisean nan Gàidheal is very pleased to support this project, giving emerging young musicians a valuable opportunity to develop performance, groupwork and recording skills. Fèis Dhùn Èideann’s follow-on programme of classes have been a tremendous success and continue to go from strength to strength. I would like to congratulate them and all those who have been involved in this recording project and I wish them all the very best with this EP release.”
