Archiving Project

About the Archiving Project
Between 2008 and 2011, with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Fèisean nan Gàidheal set up an Archiving Project with the aim of encouraging Fèis participants to collect and record local tunes, songs and stories in their own communities. This offered a great opportunity for the Fèisean to promote and preserve their own local heritage and for young people to discover more about the culture and tradition of their own areas. Participants in the project were also be given the opportunity to develop new skills in collecting and recording through a series of training sessions provided by Fèisean nan Gàidheal.
