gaelic initiatives

Fèisean nan Gàidheal is happy to work cooperatively with Comunn na Gàidhlig and other organisations to deliver Iomairtean Gàidhlig - Gaelic Initiatives - in several areas.  This is part of a project funded by Bòrd na Gàidhlig to encourage learning and use of Gaelic at community level.

You can get more information on the areas where Iomairtean are operating here.

Each Tuesday, Fèisean nan Gàidheal opens its Portree office to anyone who would like to spend an hour chatting in Gaelic about anything at all.  "Cofaidh agus Còmhradh" runs between 1 and 2pm and people with any level of fluency in Gaelic would be most welcome.  Download the information leaflet here.

Fèisean nan Gàidheal has supported many projects, including a Mini-Fèis in Portree High School and the publication of magazines written by the pupils.  You can download An Dàrna Làr, Brag, Sin agad e! and OK Mata! on the right-hand side of the page.  You can see a video about Gaelic medium education at Portree High School here.
