Fèis Eilean na Hearadh

June 27, 2016 @ 10:00 am - July 1, 2016 @ 5:00 pm

Bho 27 Òg-Mhios gu 3 Iuchair thèid clann na Hearadh air an cumail trang. Chunnaic iad sìor àrdachadh anns na h-àireamhan an uiridh le 100 pàiste aig Fèis Eilean na Hearadh ann an Sgoil Sir E Scott agus thathar an dùil seo fhaicinn a-rithist. Bidh sàr-oideachadh ann an iomadh ionnstramaid ga thabhann a bharrachd air seinn agus a’ cruthachadh leis a’ Chlò Hearaich. Airson na deugairean a bhios aig Fhèis, bidh clas sònraichte air a ruith far am faigh iad air a dhol a-mach air taobh a-muigh crìochan na sgoile a’ sreap bheanntan, a’ dol a-mach air kayak air an loch agus a’ falbh air baidhseagal tron Ghearradh Chruaidh ann an Steòrnabhagh. Gheibh iad cuideachd air fiolm a stiùireadh agus a chlàradh fo stiùir Dhòl Eoin MacFhionghain, agus bha iad uabhasach soirbheachail an uiridh, a’ buannachadh ‘Film as fheàrr’ aig FilmG.

Thèid cèilidh luchd-teagaisg a chumail air oidhche ’Chiadain ann an Tigh mo Sheanair far am faigh a’ choimhearsnachd cothrom air dannsa no dhà, agus thèid sgilean an luchd-teagaisg a thaisbeanadh do thaigh làn. Gabhaidh cuirm na cloinne àite air Dihaoine. Bidh na deugairean a bhios a-muigh air an iomall air fiolm a dhèanamh a thèid a shealltainn, agus thèid fiolm Film G cuideachd a chluich don luchd-èisteachd cuideachd!

Fèis Eilean na Hearadh will take place this year in Sir E Scott School in Tarbert from the 27th of June til the 1st of July, and will hopefully see a large increase in numbers again. With a multitude of talented and enthusiastic tutors on hand, tuition in several instruments will be offered alongside shinty, singing and a subject which is proving to be very popular  – Harris Tweed craft. Teenagers will be given the chance to go outwith the boundaries of the school and climb hills, go kayaking and ride a bike through the castle grounds in Stornoway. They will also film and direct a FilmG entry with help from Dol Eoin MacKinnon, and this was very successful last year, claiming the accolade of ‘Best Film’ at the FilmG awards.

The midweek cèilidh will be held in Tigh mo Sheanair on Wednesday night where the tutors perform in an informal setting with plenty of singing, music, dancing and support from local artistes. The children’s concert will held on Friday where the participants showcase their new-found skills in front of their parents and the community, and the teenagers also show their new FilmG entry.
