Fèis Rois Òigridh

March 28, 2016 - April 1, 2016

ullapool – ulapul

Cuiridh sinn fàilte mhòr air luchd-tòiseachaidh aig a h-uile tachartas againn, agus gheibh an fheadhainn aig a bheil comas cluich no seinn mu thràth eòlas is tlachd às cuideachd.  Tha sinn ag amas air a h-uile ìre de chomas a fhrithealadh, suas don fheadhainn a tha nan neach-ciùil is nan seinneadairean ealanta.  Chan fheum sgilean leughadh-ciùil no eòlas sam bith air ceòl traidiseanta a bhith agad gus tlachd fhaighinn à Fèis.  Tha na bùithtean-obrach gan teagasg tro èisteachd agus ionnsaichidh na compàirtichean puirt agus òrain mean air mhean.  Bheir an luchd-teagaisg ceòl sgrìobhte airson a thoirt dhachaigh leat.

Tha tachartasan Fèis Rois spòrsail, càirdeil.  Bidh iad buannachdail dhuibh le sgilean cluiche, le do mhisneachd adhartachadh agus ionnsachaidh tu barrachd mu Ghàidhlig agus mu chultar nan Gàidheal.

Tha a h-uile neach-teagaisg againn nan eòlaichean proifeiseanta aig a bheil sgilean airson obair le daoine òga. Tha liosta againn de luchd-aire agus saor-thoilich a tha gar cuideachadh tachartasan a thoirt seachad gu soirbheachail.  Tha ar n-aire air a’ chloinn fad an t-siubhail agus tha sinn ag obair a rèir Stiùiridhean Dìon Cloinne is  Slàinte agus Sàbhailteachd.  Tha teisteanas PVG aig ar luchd-obrach agus na saor-thoilich gu lèir.

Tha seo na chothrom sgoinneil do dhaoine òga bho P5-S1 a thoirt cruinn còmhla agus ag ionnsachadh sgilean ann an ceòl traidiseanta, òrain, dannsa, dràma agus Gàidhlig. Tha an tachartas seo ga chumail rè làithean-saora na Càisg agus tha àiteachan gu leòr againn airson mu 150 còmpairtiche.

Beginners are very welcome at all of our events, and those who already play an instrument or sing will also find the experience very rewarding. We aim to cater for all abilities, right up to accomplished musicians and singers. You don’t need to be able to read music and you don’t need to have any previous knowledge of traditional music to enjoy a Fèis. Workshops are taught by ear with participants learning tunes and songs a phrase at a time. Tutors will give you the sheet music to take home.

Fèis Rois events are fun and friendly. We want to help you improve your playing, grow in confidence and learn more about the Gaelic language and culture.

All of our tutors are experienced, professional musicians, skilled in working with young people. We also have a pool of supervisors and volunteers who help our events run smoothly. Children are supervised at all times and we work in accordance with Child Protection and Health & Safety Guidelines. Our contracted staff and volunteers all have PVG certificates from Disclosure Scotland

This is a fantastic opportunity for young people from P5-S1 to get together and learn skills in traditional music, song, dance, drama and the Gaelic language. This event takes place during the Easter holidays and there are places for around 150 participants.

Young people choose three different classes.  You have two hours of your first choice class and one hour of your second and third choice classes each day. Classes on offer include: accordion, bagpipes, chanter, fiddle, Gaelic song, group work, guitar, harp, percussion, piano, art, creative writing, drama, Highland dance and step dance!  All participants take part in Gaelic language activities each morning, including the whole Fèis song.  Every year, we ask the song tutor to choose a song for everyone to learn together – this is the finale of the participants’ concert.
