Fèis Tìr a’ Mhurain

Thèid Fèis Tìr a’ Mhurain a chumail ann an Sgoil Iochdar an Uibhist a Deas bho 11-15 Iuchar am bliadhna. Bidh iomadh diofar ionnstramaid ri ionnsachadh aig an Fhèis, nam measg Bocsa-ciùil, Clàrsach, Drumaichean, Feadan, Fidheall agus Fìdeag. A bharrachd air an seo thèid seinn Gàidhlig, ealan, dràma, iomain, dannsa Gàidhealach agus sgilean meadhanan an tabhann do chuid, agus thèid a h-uile càil a theagasg tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig.

Mar as àbhaist, aig toiseach na seachdain thèid Rèis na Fèis a chumail far am faigh daoine de gach aois air pàirt a ghabhail, a’ ruith tro bhaile Staoinebrig agus a’ faighinn copan teatha agus bèicearachd aig an deireadh. Bidh cèilidh luchd-teagaisg ann meadhan na seachdain ann an Tàlla Staoinebrig, far am faigh an luchd-èisteachd air sgilean an luchd-teagaisg fhaicinn agus cothrom air an làr airson dannsa no dhà a ghabhail. Aig a’ chonsairt aig deireadh na seachdain thèid tàlantan ùr na cloinne an taisbeanadh agus lìbhrigidh iad fhèin a’ chùis air fad!

Fèis Tìr a’ Mhurain will be held in Iochdar School in South Uist from the 11th – 15th of July.
Children will be able to choose from a number of different instruments to learn, including Accordion, Harp, Drums, Chanter, Fiddle and Tin Whistle. They will also be offered tuition in Gaelic singing, art, drama, shinty, Highland dancing and media skills, and all the classes will be delivered through the medium of Gaelic.

As usual at the beginning of the week the Fèis Fun Run will place where competitors of all ages run through Stoneybridge village. A cèilidh will be held midweek which is always a brilliant night with performances from the tutors and plenty of dancing.  The children’s concert will take place on Friday where their new skills will be showcased, and every act will be introduced by the children themselves!
