Fèis Inbhir Nàrann
Fèis Inbhir Narann is the newest of the Fèisean in Highland area and has got off to a great start. As part of the Highland 2007 Year of Culture ‘Highland Promise’ Fèis Inbhir Narainn delivered a project to Nairnshire primary schools called “Gaelic Language, Culture and the Natural Environment”.
With additional funding from Fèisean nan Gàidheal, Scottish Natural Heritage, HIE Inverness & East Highland, The Scottish Arts Council and The Highland Council this project raised awareness of Gaelic language and culture in Nairnshire Primary schools through environment based activities, singing, storytelling and games designed to embed participants experience on a creative, imaginative level.
It also provided a legacy of a) an illustrated Gaelic alphabet in each playground and at the local Croileagen b) a top trump style card game to raise awareness of Gaelic language, culture & native trees to maintain awareness and encourage future activities involving Gaelic.
