Education Projects
Fèis Rois currently delivers two Education Projects to Primary Schools across Scotland. All our tutors go through the Disclosure Scotland process and are either graduates of music or have had substantial experience in music education.
The 'Traditional Musicians in Schools' Scheme introduces young people across Scotland to traditional music through the delivery of uniquely designed workshops.
Children are actively involved and encouraged to join in and participate in the learning of a new song or dance.
The Youth Music Initiative delivers tuition based classes to children in schools across the Highlands. This year 2008/2009, we will be working with children in Primary 5.
Education Officer Charlotte Sutton is currently planning all of the above. Please get in touch if you would be interested in helping to deliver either YMI or TMIS in the coming year.
Bad Weather Policy
In the event of adverse weather conditions we would advise tutors not to travel to schools. Please listen to local radio reports to check if schools are closed. If you are unsure please contact the Fèis Rois office.
SCRO Check Policy
It is Fèis Rois policy that all our tutors are registered with Disclosure Scotland.
