Fèis nan Garbh Chrìochan
Area
Moidart, West Lochaber
Date
19 - 23 July 2010
Information
Over the last year, Fèis nan Garbh Chrìochan has been working closely with Mallaig based Fèis Òigridh na Mara to hand over some of their classes to this new Fèis. The local committee continue to run a number of classes in their own area, plus their main Fèis in July. Seventy-five 8–18 year olds attended the day activities at Ardnamurchan High School and twenty-five 5-8 year olds attended workshops in Acharacle. The committee held a "come and try" day in an effort to resurrect some year round classes that had gone by the wayside. This was a successful initiative, supported in part by the Fèisean nan Gàidheal Development Fund.,

New Facilities for Feis nan Garbh Chriochan!
Over the past couple of years Feis nan Garbh Chriochan have been working on a project with the aim of purchasing and installing seating. lighting and sound equipment in he hall of the primary school. The Feis has enjoyed extremely close links with the school over the years and we were delighted to be involved with a project which will not only enhance the facilities and opportunities that Feis nan Garbh Chriochan provide but will allow us to host numerous Cultural and Gaelic orientated events in Acharacle. We are thrilled to be able to announce that a funding package has been put together allowing us to commence with the completion of this project. The funding has come from the Highland Legacy Fund, European Community Highland LEADER 2007-2013 Programme , Feisean nan Gaidheal as well as from Feis nan Garbh Criochan
We would like to thank everyone involved for their practical and financial support throughout this project.
