Fèis Development Fund 2007- 09

Download the guidelines and application form to the right of this page

Over the years, this scheme has been extremely useful in enabling Fèisean to carry out new projects within their own communities. You will see from the information pack that the scheme now has a much wider scope, and there are new opportunities for publishing projects and inter-Fèis working. The upper limit on the amount of money that can be applied for has been removed.

This scheme has received a great deal of support from Highland and Islands Enterprise (HIE). With that, it is now the case that this Development Fund will replace the funding that Fèisean were previously applying to their Local Enterprise Companies (LECs) for. Fèisean within the HIE area should no longer approach LECs for direct funding for the period of this scheme and should instead apply to this fund. If you need more advice on this, please do not hesitate in contacting me.

In general, if you have any queries regarding the scheme, or would like more guidance, please get in contact with me on (01463) 225559 or via our contact page here

Development Manager

The Fèis Development Fund offers an opportunity for Fèisean to undertake developmental projects under the four following headings:

New projects

For example the purchase of new equipment including instruments, help undertaking special one-off trips, help staging special one-off events or a series of no more than 6 pilot workshops.

Publishing projects

For example a collection of songs/stories from the local area.

Inter-Fèis activity

For at least two Fèisean working together on a project. For example, teenage groupwork events or exchanges between member Fèisean within Scotland. Applications of this kind will have to be signed by representatives of each Fèis involved.

New Fèisean

Open only to Fèisean within the first 12 months of being members of Fèisean nan Gàidheal to assist with start up costs. They will have to follow the other standard rules for the scheme, plus also show evidence of a constitution, a proper committee structure and the existence of a bank account. They must also show evidence that they have support from other sources, for example, the local authority.
