Junior Fèis
Our annual flagship welcomes 150 Primary 5-7 aged children to Ullapool for a 5-day Fèis with a great selection of classes to choose from.
We just couldn’t believe how much she learnt in the 5 days.
Residential places are offered to P6&7 pupils, with P5 attending as non-residents. Daily classes from 9.30am - 4pm are led by a very talented, enthusiastic team of tutors and children can choose from accordion, art, chanter, creative writing, drama, drumming/percussion, fiddle, Gaelic song, groupwork (also in Gaelic), guitar, Scottish small harp, Highland pipes, Highland dancing, piano, step and ceilidh dancing and tin whistle.
All participants are introduced to Gaelic language through a daily class, offered at 7 different levels, and everyone learns a Gaelic song to sing together at the Participants Ceilidh. The classes are open to all ability levels including the complete beginner. Some instruments can be provided for the week - accordions, fiddles, guitars, harps and keyboards.
A live-in team of highly-motivated supervisors take care of Gaelic language, welfare, health and safety and all the fun and games of the residential Fèis. Everyone attends three ceilidhs - the Tutors’ ceilidh, the Ceilidh Dance and the final night Participants’ Ceilidh which is always a very popular sell-out.
This year’s dates are 24 - 28 March 2008.
