This coming weekend will see Fèis Mhoirebh celebrating their 10th anniversary of their annual tuition event which will take place in Moray College, Elgin.
Fèis Mhoireibh 2015 was a fabulous weekend of music, games, art and stories involving eighty-five participants and a great team of tutors from both the local area and further afield. Subjects on offer this year will include accordion, clarsach, step-dance, fiddle and a new option of Scots song. In addition to classes over the weekend participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at shinty on Saturday afternoon.
Over the last two weeks pupils at a number of primary schools in the Moray area have had a little taster of what the Fèis has to offer thanks to a visit from Fèis Chairperson Steph Christie and some of her team of tutors.
Steph said: “We have had a fantastic time visiting local primary schools. The response from both children and teachers has been extremely positive and we hope that we have inspired some new participants to come along and get involved at our Fèis weekend.”
The Fèis, open to children and young people aged eight to eighteen, takes place on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May at Moray College from 9.30am – 4pm each day. The cost is £40/£30 for subsequent children from the same family and bookings can be made online at www.feismhoireibh.co.uk or by emailing steph@clarbo.com.
