Fèis Phàislig back face to face for their 2022 Summer Fèis

Fèis Phàislig is delighted to announce that their annual Fèis will return face to face in July 2022 after two years off due to Coronavirus. Although working hard to keep an online programme of events running throughout the lockdowns, with an online Fèis and online weekly classes, the Fèis are looking forward to having everyone back together in the classrooms at Gleniffer High School between the 19th and 22nd of July.

Grant MacFarlane, Fèis Phàislig Co-ordinator, said “Fèis Phàislig is delighted to be able to return to a face to face Fèis week in 2022. Although we ran some successful online events we are really looking forward to having everyone together again in the same room singing together.”

The Fèis is four days of music lessons for beginners aged between eight and 18 and the participants will get the opportunity to learn traditional music, drama, Gaelic song and art from some very talented tutors. Participants can take classes in the following subjects; accordion, art, chanter and piping, clarsach, dance, drama, percussion, fiddle, film making, guitar, singing and whistle. Included in this years teaching line up are Josie Duncan, Steve Fyvie, Becky Hill and Joe Peach.

The Fèis costs £85 per participant (including a T-shirt) and there are reduced prices for every additional sibling from the same family. There are free places available for children who receive free school meals (P6/7 only) or who receive school clothing vouchers.
