Fuaran

Fuaran is a heritage initiative established by Fèisean nan Gàidheal to encourage a new generation of Gaelic speakers and singers to actively engage in the research and collection of Gaelic songs in their local area.

More than seventy young people aged 16-25 have taken part in training and song workshops, led by a host of leading Gaelic song and research experts.  Some of them have gone on to conduct more in-depth research including interviews with people in several communities, as well as scouring the online archives and physical collections which exist of Gaelic tradition.

This group has gone on to learn and produce new recordings of the songs., bringing us a valuable collection.  We hope that this will become a useful resource for Gaelic singers and teachers, and that it will also encourage them to research and collect Gaelic songs.
