Dràma air Chuairt 2018 (Gaelic Drama Trail 2018)
With funding support from Bòrd na Gàidhlig, Fèisean nan Gàidheal are pleased to be organising Drama air Chuairt (The Gaelic Drama Trail) for the second year running. Based on the successful Cèilidh Trail model, Dràma air Chuairt was established in 2017 to offer young people with Gaelic the opportunity to have a paid employment opportunity as actors with training and performance opportunities as part of the project.
There are up to 4 places available on this year’s trail and the opportunity is open to participants who are aged between 18-25 and are fluent Gaelic speakers.
The Project
Under the direction of leading Gaelic actor, Kenny Macrae, the group will spent a fortnight together in Inverness between 20-31 August. They will work on a range of acting subjects, including; movement, voice, improvisation as well as performance skills that will be useful for them as part of the project but also as part of their development as young Gaelic actors.
The actors will prepare a 45 minute play that they will then take on tour between 3-8 September as part of the Blas Festival 2018 schools and communities programme, delivering performances in High Schools and communities across the Highlands.
Each participant will receive £900 as payment for their involvement in the project. They will also receive travel costs, accommodation and meals for the duration of the project.
