Dràma air Chuairt is back!
Fèisean nan Gàidheal is seeking four young actors, aged 18 – 30, for this year’s Dràma air Chuairt project, funded by the Scottish Government’s Expanded Festivals Fund, which is managed by Creative Scotland . The project is based on the successful Cèilidh air Chuairt initiative, but with four actors, instead of musicians, given the opportunity to learn or develop a wide range of drama skills before touring a new play.
The paid opportunity will be offered to the four actors who are successful in auditions.
The project will involve a week of training and rehearsals of the play in Inverness with the director, as well as a week-long tour as part of this year’s Blas Festival, between 31 August – 12 September.
The new play, approximately 45 minutes long, will be written specifically for this year’s project, and the actors will perform it in secondary schools across the Highlands as well as at public events, and will also be conducting workshops with school pupils.
Each actor will receive £1,500 for their participation and will be paid for their travel, accommodation and meals.
