With over 60 young people registered already Fèis Chataibh are busy preparing for their annual summer week in Golspie, Sutherland from Monday 3rd to Friday 7th July 2017.
Fèis Chataibh have held an annual summer fèis in Golspie for over 25 years, each year offering a wealth of traditional music, art and drama workshop opportunities for young people in the area.
This year is no exception and Fèis Chataibh are pleased to welcome a top class team of tutors to Golspie teaching workshops in fiddle, accordion, guitar, clarsach, keyboard, chanter and pipes, tin whistle, Gaelic song, percussion, mandolin, art and storytelling, groupwork and drama.
The fèis week is suitable for young people aged 8 to 18 with all levels of ability catered for and welcomed. The fèis costs £90 for five days of tuition in three subjects per day, with discounts available where more than one family member is attending. Places are awarded on a first-come first served basis and would-be participants are urged to submit registration forms and secure their place without delay.
As well as the main workshops a series of concerts, ceilidhs, sports, films and other activities will also be on offer during the week, culminating in a final concert with luxury raffle on Friday evening where participants will have the opportunity to show off their new skills.
