It’s Showtime for South Skye and Lochalsh Youngsters

Fèis Dhràma a Chinn a Deas, a new Drama Festival featuring new Gaelic plays produced by Skye and Lochalsh primary school pupils will take place on Tuesday 22nd May  at Talla Dhonaidh Chaimbeul, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.

Preparation for the three participating school groups from Sleat Primary, Broadford Primary and Plockton and Lochcarron Primaries started at the beginning of the term with each group receiving expert support and direction from writer and actor Catriona Lexy Campbell who has been employed by Fèisean nan Gàidheal to deliver a series of weekly drama workshops to assist in the production of each school’s play.

In addition to these performances, special guests Mallaig Primary have been invited to attend the festival and will be sailing over on the day to perform their play along with the other school groups.

Fèisean nan Gàidheal’s Fèisgoil service regularly co-ordinates the provision of Gaelic medium drama tuition for primary schools in the form of Fèisean Dràma and other drama based projects. For more information about the Fèisgoil service contact Angus Macleod or Eilidh Mackenzie at the Inverness office on 01463 225 559.
