Fuaran is a heritage initiative established by Fèisean nan Gàidheal to encourage a new generation of Gaelic speakers and singers to actively engage in the research and collection of Gaelic songs in their local area.

With funding from Bòrd na Gàidhlig, we are pleased that the project is up and running once again. Between 2018 and 2019, seven young Fèis participants aged 16-25 have been doing research into songs from their localities by speaking to local tradition bearers and examining folklore collections and resources. We are now in the process of digitising the songs they collected to add to the Fuaran resource.

In the meantime, follow the link below to access the Fuaran archive and enjoy the songs that were collected by the first group of Fuaran youngsters between 2014 and 2016. There are over 20 of them collected in a number of communities around Scotland, creating a valuable Gaelic song resource:
